Labor and Employment
Our labor and employment law attorneys have extensive experience with advising, counseling and representing unions in the private and public sector regarding organizing, representation, contract negotiation and enforcement, ERISA matters, and internal union matters. We represent unions at grievance arbitrations, negotiations, before the National Labor Relation Board, and in litigation. We provide training to Unions, officers, stewards and members in diversity, harassment, complaint handling, and workers’ rights.
We have long represented individual workers facing unlawful retaliation and discrimination on the basis of race/color, sex, national origin, age, religion, pregnancy, and disability. We develop a strategy to meet our clients’ needs, whether that means negotiating a settlement, filing a discrimination claim with state and federal agencies, or filing a lawsuit. We have represented many executives by negotiating employment contracts and, upon separation of employment, helped them obtain optimal severance packages with their integrity intact. We consult with individuals concerning their disputes with their employers, providing counseling and offering strategies to effectively respond and interact with management. We represent employees who have been separated from employment at unemployment compensation hearings and appeals.
We have joined forces with other law firms to litigate major Fair Labor Standards Act wage and hour claims against companies in the meat and poultry industry.

Our commercial law attorney counsels and advises businesses in numerous areas including business formation, ERISA, business transactions, corporate matters, real estate and construction. He advises and assists clients with estate planning and real estate matters.
