Jairus M. Gilden

<empty>Jairus ("Jay") M. Gilden is of counsel to the firm. Jay's practice is in labor law with a focus in recent years in wage and hour law. He is energized by investigating Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA) wage and hour claims and by helping to litigate claims on behalf of union members and other employees against major companies in the meat and poultry industry. He likes to see the "big guys" pay.

Jay received his undergraduate degree from Yale University and his law degree from Georgetown University Law Center. He graduated with honors from both Yale and Georgetown. He was a legal intern at the Office of Appeals, National Labor Relations Board and then with the United Steelworkers of America, AFL-CIO-CLC. Jay also served as a law clerk with the United Food and Commercial Workers Union, AFL-CIO. Before branching out on his own, specializing in labor and employee benefit law, Jay was an attorney at the Office of Appeals, National Labor Relations Board. After that, he spent over 15 years as a partner in a Chicago union-side law firm.

Jay is licensed to practice law in Illinois and Michigan.
